2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
It is no secret that Paul had to deal with critics of the ministry that God called him to. In the chapter we are in today we see Paul addressing two distinct accusations. He was accused for being arrogant in his teachings. Also his accusers would point out his lack of success among his own people. Which he responds to by going back to the time Father Moses hid his face behind a vail. Not because of God's glory upon him was too bright for the people to see. But, because God's glory was fading among the people, and the glow on Moses face was fading also. To avoid judgment by the people Moses hid his face. This example the accusers would remember well. Paul points out that neither he nor the other disciples were hiding anything. Which some people may view as arrogance, they were just teaching in clarity, and openness. That all would understand the new covenant of God.
Paul is saying that, those who believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins, then rose again defeating death, see clearly as God has nothing to hide, the law failed as it was based on man's faithfulness not on God's faithfulness. For those who see clearly, they reflect the glory of God and Christ like a mirror. Those who believe Jesus is The Messiah are being transformed both spiritually and physically into the very image of Christ. As Moses face caught a reflection of the glory of God by being in His presence, so believers are changed into His image by beholding Him. A transformation that comes by The Spirit dwelling with us.
So who do you reflect today? This week? At home? In your work place? At the market? Is it Christ or your flesh?
