Isaiah 45:22
“Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
In the chapter we find our verse in this week, we see that Yahweh blessed Cyrus and his Medo-Perssian army by giving them a way into conquering Babylon. As a matter of fact God prophesied that Cyrus would conquer Babylon and rebuild the city of Jerusalem a hundred and ninety years before it even took place. By telling Cyrus all that would take place before hand. God proves to this Non Jew that He is greater than the gods that are fashioned by hand. Then Yahweh begins to prepare His people to leave Babylon. His people reconciled themselves to the will of God during their affliction. Content to wait for their deliverance. God encourages His people to seek His word, pray on to Him, and depend upon His power. Finally The Lord God comforts His people with a nugget of truth.
Our Creator is promising that all who look to him will be saved! This is the message of The Gospel! God sets His promise to all the earth. As proof that His salvation is not just for The Jews, He uses a Non Jew a Gentile to save His people! There is also a lesson here to both Jew and Gentile. That there is only one God Almighty. Only one with authority, and power. Only one that can save!
As we seek His word, pray on to Him, and depend upon His power this week.
Let us ask The Lord to show us if we have build up an idol that is taking His place. I pray that our blessing don't become our idols. May we never depend on anything other than Our Lord and savior.
