Isaiah 6:8
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:“Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?”Then I said, “Here am I!
The book of Isaiah is the longest book of prophecy in the bible. Isaiah has a lot of info on Jesus Christ, the coming Messiah. There is also great detail of God's throne, and all that takes place in heaven. We learn from this book that the nation of Judah had forsaken The Living God with shallow worship, and the worship of idols. These Israelites never got to the real heart of the nation itself. In chapter six Isaiah records his commissioning by God for his ministry. God was going to destroy the nation of Judah and during the whole process, continued to warn the people until the very end. Unfortunately the nation of Judah did not listen to this prophet, and in their hearts rebelled against God. We know this by the very second verse in this book. Yet God was going to be faithful and witness to them anyways.
Isaiah had this vision of The Lord at His throne in all His glory in God's true light. Isaiah realized all his iniquities and received healing from them. When we can recognize our own iniquities and confess them unto God, He can then work in us. What a beautiful works they are...grace, forgiveness, and His love. That work of God does not end there! God also wants to work through our lives. See in this chapter, Isaiah was touched by the fire of God! Now cleansed he became a different man no longer held frozen by fear of his iniquities. So when Isaiah heard God saying:“Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Isaiah responded “Here am I! Once God touches our lives, God then wants to use us to touch others. Our lives once touched by God should become an available instrument to God for His good works.
