Romans 7:6
But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
Paul explains by keeping the law as a covenant, and seeking justification by our own obedience, is to continue to be slaves to sin. The day of our believing, is the day we are united with Christ. When it comes to sin, we should count ourselves slain like Jesus on the cross. We should also count ourselves resurrected like Christ when it comes to our second chance to live free from our bondage of sin.
Have you ever experienced worship with people that have been set free from their bondage? I'm talking, people that were delivered right out of the Devils hands just as they were being dragged down to hell? I have, just recently in a beautiful banquet room packed with over two hundred women delivered from the bondage of drugs and alcohol. POWERFUL, is an understatement. I have a new take on what rejoicing in The Lord means. When one is truly redeemed and is granted a new and improved life in the Lord one can not stop from worshiping and serving The Lord.
