Mark 4:34
But without a parable He did not speak to them. And when they were alone, He explained all things to His disciples.
The book of Mark is an easy read with only sixteen chapters. The Gospel of Mark represents Christ character as a servant. Mark's book was directed to the Romans. Focusing on the authority of Christ, His power in teaching, healing, and casting out evil spirits.
In chapter four Christ is teaching by the sea side the parable of the seed and the four sets of ground (wayside, stony ground, thorns, and good ground). Christ taught in parables, so that people would listen. People would then catch the comparison of common things and repeat it to others. Those who had eyes to see would see and apply these teachings to their own life. However in intimacy He explained the parables to the disciples.
Only by being alone with The Lord will we be led more into the secrets of The Lord! If we let the word of God into our souls, we will have God's wisdom from His mouth. His word is the meditation of His heart and shall give us understanding. Our gifts and graces will multiply. That we may give to the church what He gives to us, and the more we exercise these gifts the stronger they grow.
I urge you to make a daily appointment with The Lord. A daily date to sit under His teaching. Give your time to Him that He can explain all things to you.
